I had the pleasure to creative direct this beautiful and content rich project that is accessible to all people. I enjoy crafting empowering experiences with meaningful content and enabling visitors to connect emotionally to the content.

‘Ancient Olympia: Common Grounds’ digitally preserves the cultural and archaeological heritage of the site of Olympia using Microsoft technology. It explores how the ancient Olympic Games fostered “common ground” that was anchored in values such as peace, harmony, cooperation, equality, fairness, and respect.

The project consists of an interactive website, a mobile AR app and a Hololens experience, framed by a global campaign led by Brad Smith.

Focused on the digital reconstruction of the sprawling ruins at Olympia, the project includes an immersive audio experience in which participants can listen to and contribute their own reflections on the idea of common ground, drawing powerful connections between the history of ancient Olympia and universal values still important in our global community.

Thanks to Microsoft’s empowering technology, cutting edge digital preservation tools and advanced storytelling platforms, we’re able to step back in time and discover a valuable piece of our shared past. Microsoft showcases that the company’s AI and mixed reality technologies are helping to digitally preserve significant historical sites as part of their ‘AI for Cultural Heritage’ program.
